This three day inter-disciplinary conference aims to bring together researchers interested in Economics, Management Sciences, Marketing, History and more generally cultural or sociological dimensions of wine production. The conference will be organised on the line of one main topic: international wine market.
Those interested in the international wine market should focus on papers that improve market understanding through: integration of theories, suggestion of methods and/or tools for efficiency evaluations of wine businesses. Different approaches may be of interest: economics, geography, history, sociology, marketing, business studies, management, wine tasting and viticulture. Papers should be based on diverse empirical works: quantitative surveys, qualitative approaches; contemporary and historical case studies…
Additionally, the conference is also opened to papers on wine tourism. These papers should examine the links between tourism and wine activities: notably the impact of the vineyards and of wine production and sales on the attractiveness of wine-producing regions; and of the value in wine tourism of socio-anthropological aspects of the industry
Selection of papers and abstracts for discussion sessions will be on the basis of peer reviewer comments. Selection criteria include the general quality of the paper, rigour of conceptualisation, application of research methods, clarity of presentation, originality, and the relevance of the issues addressed to the understanding of the wine world.
The conference will be open only to authors of accepted papers.
A selection of the best papers may be published in international journals of reference.

Sessions Structure
  • The sessions will be held in English.
  • Each session will be led by a discussant
  • Selected papers will be presented by the author in a 20 minutes summary, relevant to the session topic - to be followed by a 10 min. discussion.
